The Savage Sounds of Go Zombie Records

zombified surf, ghastly garage, and eccentric pop music for the discerning sleaze

Wednesday, April 05, 2006

Hello again from San Pedro la Laguna. It's still paradise here, and I will be sad to leave on Friday. But so it goes. By Saturday evening, we will be in Copan Ruinas, Honduras.

Here are some photos (which are huge, hope you have a fast connection):

The view from our balcony is Chichicastenango as the sun sets behind the graveyard.
The Catholic/Mayan church in Chichi, where fires always burn on the steps just as they would have on the giant temples at Tikal.
The market has the most incredible ceramics, thousands and thousands of them.
Outside Chichi, at Kumarkaaj, there are many small shrines deep in the caves beneath the old city.
And some sacrificied chickens.
The view from our balcony here is San Pedro.
And a local man fishing from a dugout canoe.
One of many ruined churches in Antigua,
Where they store the floats from Semana Santa like this one.
The most famous church in Guatemala, in a small town called San Andres Xecul
Street art during the Sunday procession in Antigua.
Yours truely at the top of Volcan Pacaya
Adam, Chad, Allison, and I in front of the Arch in Antigua.
And finally, San Simon (read below).

Cheers
Travis
