The Savage Sounds of Go Zombie Records

zombified surf, ghastly garage, and eccentric pop music for the discerning sleaze

Boy, this blog system is really pissing me off with its photo inabilities. Here are links to some photos we have taken, but you have to click the link to see them:

The grand plaza at Tikal, Guatemala.
Sherds of Mayan pottery are everywhere here.
This is my travel buddy Chad in the courtyard of a huge mayan palace.
A praying mantis on our hammock-hut
The view from Temple IV, looking at the truncated pyramid in mundo perido
It's never a good sign when you close your hotel door and see this warning scribbled on the inside.
Some more graffiti, of my favorite kind.
This is where we slept in Tikal.
And the burial of King Moon Double Comb.
Chad and I on the Rio de Pasion, on our way to the super remote Mayan site of Ceibal. It was an hour and a half boatride, followed by a trek through thick jungle to get out there, but it was worth every minute because:
The stelae were so incredible.
Temple I at Tikal in the setting sun.
And finally, where we are tonight, Antigua Guatemala.

Antigua is as beautiful and mellow as I hoped it would be, and we will be here at least through the weekend. Next week we may take some Spanish lessons up at San Pedro del Lago, on Lago Atitlan in NW Guatemala. But really, who knows.

Cheers!
